appium-chromedriver is a Node.js wrapper around Chromedriver and Microsoft Edge WebDriver, primarily used by Appium drivers to automate Chrome/Chromium-based browsers and web views in Android applications. It is not intended for standalone usage and is instead designed to support Appium drivers like UiAutomator2 and appium-chromium-driver. The package includes features for automatic Chromedriver downloads, custom version management, and support for alternative CDN URLs.
