Canboatjs is a pure‑JavaScript library (and CLI tools) that decodes and encodes NMEA 2000 (CAN bus) messages. It reads data from popular N2 K gateways (Actisense, iKonvert, YDWG‑02, MiniPlex‑3‑N2K, etc.), converts between the binary CAN format and the JSON structures used by the original Canboat analyzer, and can generate the various vendor‑specific serial strings for output. The project is aimed at developers and marine‑electronics hobbyists who need a lightweight, Node‑based solution for parsing, analysing, or retransmitting NMEA 2000 traffic.
