**@request/core** is a low‑level Node.js HTTP client that mirrors the built‑in `http.request` API but adds a modular, option‑driven layer for advanced features such as multipart bodies, OAuth/Digest/Hawk authentication, gzip/deflate handling, character‑set conversion, cookie jars, redirects, timeouts, proxies, and custom logging. It’s aimed at developers who need fine‑grained control over HTTP duplex streams without pulling in unnecessary dependencies, serving as the core building block for higher‑level request‑style libraries.
