passport‑spid is a Node.js / TypeScript library that provides a Passport.js authentication strategy for Italy’s public‑sector digital identity system (SPID), which is built on top of SAML2. It lets web applications easily integrate SPID login (and logout) by handling SPID‑specific metadata, request caching and profile extraction, and is aimed at developers who need to add government‑grade citizen authentication to Express (or similar) services.
