This is a [SAML 2.0](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SAML_2.0) authentication provider for [Passport](http://passportjs.org/), the Node.js authentication library. It is designed for developers building Node.js applications that need to integrate SAML-based single sign-on (SSO) with identity providers like Okta, Shibboleth, or Active Directory Federation Services.
