Hydrogen is an interactive coding environment for Atom that supports Python, R, JavaScript, and other Jupyter kernels, allowing users to execute code inline and in real time. It is designed for developers who want a seamless, interactive coding experience with features like rich media support, watch expressions, and kernel integration. The project is now archived due to Atom's sunset, but its functionality can be replicated using alternatives like nteract, VSCode with Jupyter, or PyCharm.
