The `nteract/markdown` package enables rendering of Commonmark-specified Markdown with LaTeX math support in Jupyter notebooks. It provides React components for displaying formatted text, inline and block math equations, and styling within notebook environments. Although deprecated and no longer maintained, it was designed for developers working with Jupyter notebooks who needed enhanced Markdown rendering capabilities.
