The **@fitbit/sdk/companion-gettext** package supplies a factory that generates a `gettext` function for use in the companion and settings components of a Fitbit OS app, enabling internationalization (i18n) support. It is bundled with the Fitbit SDK toolchain to polyfill the i18n module, making it easy for Fitbit app developers to add multilingual text to their companion and settings code.
