Apollo Link State is a library for managing application state with Apollo Client, allowing developers to use GraphQL queries and mutations to access and update local data alongside remote data. It is designed for developers already using Apollo Client who want to centralize client-side data without maintaining a separate store like Redux or MobX. The library is now deprecated in favor of Apollo Client 2.5's integrated local state handling.
