Eastern is a lightweight, high‑performance BDD testing framework specifically designed for Node.js ECMAScript Modules (ESM). It provides a global `it`/`describe` API with support for hooks, concurrency control and `.only/.skip` filters, and can be run via the `eastern` CLI to automatically discover and execute `.mjs` test files. The library targets JavaScript developers who want a fast, minimal test runner for modern ESM‑based projects.
