The wdio-geckodriver-service is a WebdriverIO service that automates the startup and shutdown of GeckoDriver for running tests with the WDIO testrunner. It eliminates the need for a Selenium server by using the geckodriver NPM package or a globally installed binary. This service is designed for developers using WebdriverIO to test Firefox browsers, though it has been deprecated in WebdriverIO v8.14 and higher.
