The Request Mocking Protocol (RMP) is a lightweight specification and library for declaratively defining HTTP request‑response mocks using JSON schemas that can be sent to an application via a custom header (`x‑mock‑request`). It lets test frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress) and server‑side runtimes (e.g., Next.js) intercept outgoing fetch/XHR calls, apply per‑test, parallelizable mocks, and even patch real responses—making it ideal for end‑to‑end testing of web apps that need server‑side request mocking.
