**eslint‑defaults** provides a pre‑configured ESLint setup that automatically adapts its rules to the structure of a project and the libraries it uses, so developers don’t have to manually craft a base configuration. It’s intended for JavaScript/Node developers who want a sensible, “just works” linting setup out‑of‑the‑box (though the package is now deprecated in favor of standard‑esnext).
