`username-sync` is a lightweight Node.js utility that synchronously returns the current system user’s login name (e.g., `"best-guess-system-username"`). It’s a back‑ported version of the `username` package for older Node 0.12 environments, allowing legacy projects to obtain a username without upgrading to newer async‑compatible libraries.
