The `grunt-git-authors` package is a Grunt plugin that extracts contributors from a Git repository and provides them in several formats—displaying a list in the console, creating or updating an `AUTHORS.txt` file, and updating `package.json` with author information. It’s aimed at developers and project maintainers who want to automatically keep their project’s author lists and contributor credits up‑to‑date, optionally ordering them by contribution date or frequency.
