Velvet is a Node‑based, modular static‑site generator that mimics Jekyll’s workflow but is designed to run extremely fast within Gulp pipelines. It supplies a set of Nunjucks globals and custom tags (for assets, images, scripts, styles, etc.) that let developers write Jekyll‑style templates while automatically handling site data and asset processing. The tool is aimed at front‑end developers who want a Jekyll‑like experience integrated into JavaScript build systems.
