The **@release-it/bumper** plugin lets Release‑it read a version number from a file (JSON, YAML, TOML, INI, XML, HTML, or plain text) and/or write the new bumped version back to one or many files. It’s aimed at developers who need to keep version information in manifest‑style files (e.g., composer.json, pom.xml, custom VERSION files) synchronized with Release‑it’s release workflow.
