A truly modular frontend framework

The **Mercury** library is a lightweight, truly modular frontend framework that builds UI on top of virtual‑DOM and immutable Observ structures, encouraging functional‑reactive programming, zero direct DOM manipulation, and easy swapping of its component pieces. It’s aimed at developers who want a compact (~11 KB gzipped), performant alternative to larger frameworks like React or Ember and are comfortable integrating small, well‑tested modules for state, events, and rendering. (Note: the project is now deprecated; the actively maintained successor is **tonic**, which builds on similar ideas.)
