hy-img was a web component designed to replace standard img tags with lazy-loading functionality, particularly useful for users on ultra-slow connections by allowing cancellation of image requests that scrolled out of view. The project is now deprecated in favor of native browser lazy-loading using the loading="lazy" attribute and proper width/height attributes on img tags.
