The `paper-material` component is a deprecated Material Design container that renders two shadows to create the effect of a lifted piece of paper. It was designed for developers building web applications with Polymer, specifically those seeking to implement Material Design aesthetics. However, it has been superseded by shared styles in `PolymerElements/paper-styles`, and users are encouraged to migrate to the newer approach.
