Automaton is a Node‑based web‑scraping/RPA framework that lets developers describe navigation, data extraction and output with a simple XML‑style DSL. By plugging in interchangeable “mining engines” (Cheerio, Puppeteer, Playwright, JSDom, etc.), the same definition can run headless or in a full browser, and scrapers can be executed from code, a CLI or a future GUI. It is aimed at engineers and automation teams who want a maintainable, engine‑agnostic way to build and share reusable web‑data collectors.
