node‑license‑sniffer is a command‑line utility that inspects a Node.js package (and optionally its entire dependency tree) to determine the software license(s) in use, pulling the information from package.json or, if absent, from LICENSE files and heuristics. It’s aimed at developers, build scripts, and compliance teams who need to quickly generate accurate license identifiers—or even full license text—for their own projects or downstream dependencies.
