A lightweight CommonJS utility that searches upward from a given directory to locate the nearest `package.json`, reads its contents, and returns a detailed report (full path, directory, raw text, parsed JSON, ES‑module flag, resolved paths, entry‑point, etc.). It’s aimed at Node.js developers who need more than just the file location—providing both synchronous and asynchronous APIs for tooling, scripts, or libraries that need quick access to package metadata.
