The `@vscode/sudo-prompt` package lets Node/Electron (or any background) applications invoke non‑graphical shell commands with elevated privileges by showing a native OS dialog for authentication on macOS, Linux, and Windows. It’s intended for developers who need to run privileged CLI tools without launching full graphical apps—e.g., VS Code extensions or Electron utilities that require occasional sudo access.
