This plugin for the `markdown-it` Markdown parser automatically merges adjacent table cells with identical content, first vertically (by column) and then horizontally (by row). It's designed for users who generate data tables in Markdown where repeating values across rows or columns should be visually consolidated into merged cells in the final HTML output.
