Leaflet.PixiOverlay is a plugin that lets developers render any custom graphics (markers, polygons, animated sprites, etc.) on a Leaflet map using Pixi.js’s WebGL‑accelerated canvas. It is aimed at web‑mapping developers who need high‑performance, flexible visualisations—such as millions of points or animated layers—while still working within the Leaflet ecosystem.
