**event-to-promise** is a tiny utility that turns Node‑style EventEmitter events into Promises, letting developers await a single event (or one of several) and optionally cancel the listener. It’s aimed at JavaScript developers who want a promise‑based API for asynchronous events in Node, Browserify/Webpack, or plain browsers, though the package is now deprecated in favor of `promise-toolbox/fromEvent`.
