Google zx is a small JavaScript toolkit that lets developers write cross‑platform shell scripts using familiar JS/TS syntax, with built‑in helpers for command execution, argument escaping, and async workflows. It’s aimed at anyone who wants to author more complex automation scripts (e.g., deployment pipelines, project scaffolding) without the verbosity and portability issues of plain Bash.
