The edX Credentials Service is a replacement for the `certificates` app in `edx-platform`, supporting the hosting and management of course and program certificates. It is designed for developers working on the edX platform, particularly those involved in certificate generation and learner record features. The service can be run locally using devstack or Tutor, with frontend components extracted into a dedicated MFE for development.
