The GitBook Highlight Plugin is a default syntax highlighter for GitBook that enables code block highlighting in documentation. It's designed for authors and developers using GitBook to create technical documentation, tutorials, or books that include code examples. The plugin can be easily removed if syntax highlighting is not needed by adding `"-highlight"` to the plugins array in the book.json configuration.
