Discern is a lightweight Node.js library that parses and normalizes Git and GitHub URLs, exposing helpers such as `github()` to extract user, repository and branch information, `isGitUrl`, `isGitHubUrl`, and `isGistUrl` checks, as well as utilities for resolving a folder’s remote origin. It’s aimed at developers who need to program‑matically work with Git/GitHub links—e.g., package managers, build tools, or CI scripts.
