The **string.prototype.towellformed** package provides a spec‑compliant shim/polyfill for the upcoming `String.prototype.toWellFormed` method, ensuring that strings with stray surrogate halves are safely replaced with the Unicode replacement character. It targets JavaScript environments as old as ES3 (including Node and browsers) and follows the ES2024 proposal, allowing developers to use the method uniformly whether or not the native implementation exists.
