Workerd is an open‑source JavaScript / WebAssembly runtime that runs the same code powering Cloudflare Workers, allowing you to self‑host or locally develop serverless functions, HTTP proxies, and nanoservice‑style applications. It’s aimed at developers who want a standardized, backwards‑compatible, and highly composable environment for building and testing Web‑platform‑standard workers outside of Cloudflare’s hosted service.
