Q is a JavaScript library for handling asynchronous operations using promises, designed to simplify callback-heavy code by allowing developers to chain operations and manage errors more effectively. It was created before native JavaScript promises existed and is now largely superseded by them, but it remains useful for legacy projects or when working with older environments.
