Monocart Locator is a tiny, zero‑dependency JavaScript library that parses a source string into lines and comments and provides fast (O(log n)) conversion between character offsets and 1‑based line/column positions. It’s aimed at developers building tools such as linters, formatters, IDE extensions, or any code‑analysis utilities that need precise source‑code location handling without pulling in heavy parsing frameworks.
