Commoner is a Node‑based build tool that lets developers define how any JavaScript‑like dialect (or other source files such as CoffeeScript, LESS, etc.) should be located, transformed, and emitted as standard CommonJS modules. It uses a declarative, promise‑driven pipeline with caching and optional watching, making it ideal for teams that need a flexible, scriptable way to transpile and package modular code for Node, browsers (via Browserify, Stitch, etc.), or static serving.
