am‑i‑a‑dependency is a tiny Node.js utility that lets a package’s post‑install script detect whether it is being installed as a dependency of another project or being installed itself (e.g., during its own `npm i`). It’s useful for library authors who need conditional post‑install behavior, and can be imported and called with `require('am-i-a-dependency')()` in any npm package.
