This project, `highlight`, is a Node.js library for syntax highlighting code, originally built as a wrapper for the browser-based `highlight.js` parser. It automatically detects programming languages and formats code within HTML, making it useful for displaying code snippets – particularly in Markdown files – with proper syntax coloring. However, the project is now deprecated in favor of using `highlight.js` directly.
